At Virgo Music Productions, I provide versatile music education tailored to the student’s environment—whether that is in a school setting or the comfort of their own home. With a focus on Guitar, Bass, Drums, and Music Production, my goal is to provide high-quality, practical instruction that fits your schedule.Lessons follow the RSL Rockschool syllabus, a modern path for aspiring musicians. I facilitate all grading levels, providing expert preparation for exams from Debut through to Grade 8.Peripatetic School Teaching:
I currently provide peripatetic (Perry) teaching for schools throughout the Cambridge area. I work closely with school music departments to deliver lessons that complement the curriculum while giving students a professional edge.

Private Home Tuition:
For those who prefer a more personalised environment or are looking for lessons outside of school hours, I offer private home visits. I bring my 35 years of industry experience directly to your door, providing a focused and comfortable learning atmosphere.
Local Coverage:
Serving residential areas across Cambridge and the surrounding villages.
Custom Setup:
Great for students who want to learn on their own gear or focus on their specific home studio production setup.
Lesson Durations:
Every student learns at a different pace, and schedules vary. I offer flexible lesson lengths to suit different ages, levels, and goals:
20 Minutes: Ideal for younger beginners or a focused weekly "check-in."
30 Minutes: The standard session for most developing students.
45 Minutes: Great for intermediate players or those diving into music theory.
60 Minutes:Recommended for advanced students and Music Production sessions where we need more time to dive into software and mixing.

Fees

Transparency is key to a successful partnership between tutor, student, and parent. My rates reflect 35 years of professional industry expertise and specialised instruction in Guitar, Bass, Drums, and Music Production.Lesson Rates:
Whether for school-based peripatetic teaching or private tuition, the following rates apply:
• 20-Minute Lesson: £15.00
• 30-Minute Lesson: £22.50
• 45-Minute Lesson: £34.00
• 60-Minute Lesson: £45.00
Private lessons are subject to a £5 travel contribution depending on your location.Invoicing & Payment Terms:
To allow me to focus on teaching and student progress, I operate under the following payment structure:
Termly Invoicing: Invoices are issued at the beginning of each term for the full term's tuition.
Payment Window: Parents and guardians have a 45-day grace period from the date of the invoice to settle the balance.
Late Payments: In the event that an invoice remains unpaid after 45 days, a 7% late fee will be applied to the outstanding balance.
Cessation of Lessons: Please note that if payment is not received within the 45-day window, lessons will cease immediately until the account is brought up to date.
Important Policies
Commitment: By booking a term of lessons, you are securing a dedicated weekly slot in my schedule.
Attendance: Consistency is vital for musical progress. I kindly ask for as much notice as possible regarding absences, though please note that termly bookings are generally non-refundable.
Technical Advice: As part of your tuition fee, I am always happy to provide expert advice on instrument maintenance and gear selection, drawing on my 35 years as a professional technician.

Terms & Conditions

These terms and conditions ensure a consistent and high-quality learning environment for all students. By enrolling in lessons with Virgo Music Productions, parents and guardians agree to the following:1. Tuition & Invoicing
Termly Commitment: Tuition is booked and invoiced on a per-term basis.
Billing: Invoices are issued at the commencement of each school term for the total number of lessons scheduled for that period.
Payment Window: All invoices must be settled within 45 days of the invoice date.
2. Late Payments & Arrears
Late Fees: Any invoice remaining unpaid after the 45-day grace period will incur a 7% late payment charge added to the outstanding balance.
Cessation of Service: If payment is not received by the 45-day deadline, lessons will cease immediately. Lessons will only resume once the full balance, including late fees, has been cleared.
3. Student Absences & School Events
As a Peripatetic Teacher, my time is allocated and reserved for your child’s specific slot.
Absences: Virgo Music Productions does not accept responsibility for lessons missed due to student absence, including illness, family holidays, or medical appointments.
School Events: No refunds or credits will be issued for lessons missed due to school-organized events, including but not limited to:
• School excursions or field trips.
• Residential trips.
• Exams or sporting fixtures.
• Internal school events.
• Note: In these instances, the lesson is still payable as the tutor’s time has been professionally retained.
4. Tutor Absences & Rescheduling
Tutor Absence: In the unlikely event that I am unable to attend a scheduled lesson (due to illness or emergency), I will notify the school/parent as soon as possible.
Resolution: Any lesson missed by the tutor will be either:
1. Rescheduled to a mutually convenient time.
2. Credited toward the following term’s invoice.
5. Termination of Lessons
• Should you wish to discontinue lessons, notice must be given in writing by the end of the current term to take effect for the following term. No refunds are provided for mid-term withdrawals.
